Abstract : The IERC has an established history and a pro-active role in research in Islamic Economics (IE). This paper intends to give an account on that role and other various aspect of this renowned institution. The paper starts by a brief introduction about the Centre; its vision and mission, and its administrative structure. Then it outlays some of its scientific achievements and obtained prizes. The latter part of this introduction identifies the scientific potentials that the Centre has. After that, the paper elaborates on the future plans of the Centre. These include among others researches, teaching materials and training programs.
