Society Membership

Society Membership Types:

· Honorary Membership:

To be granted by a resolution of the general assembly to those who provided financial or moral support, or took an active role in developing the Society’s activities.  Honorary members are exempt from paying any dues; and can attend the general assembly’s sessions and committees and participate in its discussions.  However, they have no voting rights.

· Active Membership:

To be open to all who fulfill conditions for membership – namely, those who hold a degree in meteorology.

· External Membership:

To be enjoyed by those who do not meet the meteorology degree requirement.  Such members only have to pay 50% of the annual membership fee. They can attend the general assembly and its various committees; and take part in discussions without having the right to vote, or the right to nominate members of the board of directors.  

· Student Membership:

To be granted to students of various majors at different educational levels.  Student members will be exempt from paying 75% of the annual membership fees. They can attend the general assembly’s sessions and its various committees; and take part in its discussions without having the right to vote, or the right to nominate members of the board of directors.

· Associate Membership:

To be granted to any organization, institution, company, and public or government body that wishes to gain membership in order to benefit from the Society’s services.  Associate members and their representatives enjoy the same rights as external members.
